# vision.app (VisionApp Solutions S.L.) > vision.app is an interdisciplinary team of clinical optometrists, vision scientists and software engineers based in Murcia, Spain. We build patented mobile tele-optometry technology: digital vision testing from a phone, myopia protection for children, and optometry consulting & R&D services. Our work is backed by peer-reviewed academic publications and international patents. Key facts: - The vision.app product family has three products with distinct intended uses and regulatory status: - vision.app Play (available): general wellness product for checking visual performance with fun digital tests. Not a medical device, no CE marking, not intended for medical purposes. - vision.app Check (coming soon): preliminary functional assessment of visual quality with a guidance-only recommendation to visit an eye care professional. Class I medical device undergoing licensing and CE marking; not yet available. - vision.app Rx (coming soon): measures refraction (sphere, cylinder, axis for distance; addition for near) to provide a usable prescription for glasses or contact lenses. Class IIa medical device pending certification; not yet available. - Myopia.app (available on Google Play, 250K+ downloads): app developed by scientists that helps protect children and teenagers against myopia by monitoring viewing distance, ambient light and screen time, with remote supervision by eye care professionals and a red light therapy (RLRL) feature for myopia control. - Consulting & R&D: own optometry research laboratory offering clinical trial design (FDA standards), scientific research software, full-stack mobile development, web development and display/camera hardware know-how. Clients include CORL (Indiana University), University of Murcia, University of Auckland, Wrocław University of Science and Technology and VPO. - Company is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified. ## Products - [Products & Services overview](https://vision.app/products/): summary of the three product lines - [vision.app family: Play, Check & Rx](https://vision.app/products/vision-app/): product details and regulatory status - [Myopia.app](https://vision.app/products/myopia-app/): myopia protection for families - [Consulting & R&D](https://vision.app/products/consulting/): services and clients - [Try the demo](https://vision.app/demo/): vision.app Play demo in the browser ## Research - [Academic publications](https://vision.app/about/academic-publications/): peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations - [Patents](https://vision.app/about/patents/): international patent family - [Clinical trial NCT07571538](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT07571538): registered study on clinicaltrials.gov - [Digital habits and myopia](https://vision.app/myopia-digital-habits/): evidence on near-work, diopter-hours and myopia - [Red light therapy for myopia control](https://vision.app/redlight-myopia-control/): evidence on repeated low-level red light (RLRL) ## FAQ - Is vision.app a medical device? It depends on the product. vision.app Play is a general wellness product with no medical purpose and no CE marking. vision.app Check is a Class I medical device undergoing licensing and CE marking, and vision.app Rx is a Class IIa medical device pending certification; neither is available yet. - Can vision.app measure my glasses prescription? Yes. The technology measures your over-refraction — how much your current glasses or contact lens prescription needs to change to be perfect — or your full prescription if you wear no correction. This is vision.app Rx: the app is fully developed and is currently going through the regulatory process (Class IIa medical device certification), so it is not yet available to the public. Meanwhile, the available product, vision.app Play, offers guidance and awareness about visual performance, with no medical purpose. - Does vision.app replace an exam with an eye care professional? No, quite the opposite: no vision.app product replaces a professional eye exam, and vision.app Check is designed precisely to recommend visiting an optometrist when appropriate. In addition, vision.app offers eye care professionals a platform where they can review the tests their patients take at home, making remote follow-up and the in-practice visit easier. - Does Myopia.app diagnose myopia? No. Myopia.app monitors digital habits (viewing distance, ambient light, screen time) that are risk factors for myopia, and connects families with eye care professionals for remote supervision. It does not diagnose or replace a professional eye exam. - Is the technology scientifically validated? The team has peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics and Journal of Optometry, international patents, and a study registered on clinicaltrials.gov (NCT07571538). - How can professionals or companies try Check or Rx? Private demos are available on request via the contact form at https://vision.app/products/vision-app/ or by email at contact@vision.app. ## News & milestones - [Round table at MWC Barcelona](https://vision.app/blog/mwc-round-table/) - [Presence at ARVO 2026](https://vision.app/blog/arvo26-presence/) - [OPTOM 2026](https://vision.app/blog/optom26-carmen-travel-success/) - [Collaboration with Alain Afflelou](https://vision.app/blog/alain-afflelou/) ## Company - [About us](https://vision.app/about/): team and background - [Blog](https://vision.app/blog/): news and articles - Contact: contact@vision.app - Languages: site and products available in English and Spanish (Myopia.app site also in Polish) ## Optional - [Spanish version](https://vision.app/es/): full site in Spanish (productos: /es/productos/) - [Myopia.app site](https://vision.app/myopiaapp/): dedicated Myopia.app mini-site Last updated: July 2026
