March 31, 2026 | By Dr. Rosa Salmerón Campillo

We are thrilled to announce that our team will be part of the upcoming OPTOM 2026 congress held at IFEMA (Madrid). Our colleague Carmen Travel Alarcón will be in charge of representing our work through an oral presentation that promises to leave a lasting impression.

If you are planning to attend the congress, save the date!

  • Presentation: Evaluation of a mobile application for the remote monitoring of refractive changes.
  • Session: Technological advances for the characterization of visual function.
  • Date: April 10th.
  • Time: 10:00 AM.

What will the presentation be about?

As vision professionals, we know that regular check-ups are sometimes limited by accessibility barriers or a lack of time. For this reason, during this presentation, Carmen will share the objectives and conclusions of a study we have been working on intensively to validate the use of smartphones as visual telemonitoring tools.

Without giving away too many details before the event, we can tell you that we will be presenting an innovative mobile application designed to detect changes in refraction, with a special focus on tracking the progression of myopia and astigmatism. This tool stands out for its autonomous use and for being entirely controlled by voice commands.

We are convinced that new technologies and visual health must go hand in hand, and we are looking forward to sharing our findings with the rest of the optical community.

We look forward to seeing you on April 10th at 10:00 AM at OPTOM 2026!
